“Designed for beautiful simplicity and maximum productivity,” the Tidbits Planner is minimalist in design, but packs a powerful productivity punch with customizable spaces and a flexible way to schedule your weeks.
These products from Tidbits Planners were provided to me for free in exchange for review and promotion. All opinions are honest and my own.
I am so excited that I get to share the Tidbits Planners with you today! I love finding new planner companies, and I especially love that this is a small company only in their second year of making the Tidbits Planner.
And for a new company, I am so impressed at what the owner and creator, Cami, has been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. Her planner is amazing quality! So much thought and detail went into the design and the features. She has an entire line of notebooks and accessories that match with the Tidbits Planner perfectly.
You can see my full video review below, but I’d also highly recommend that you check out Tidbits Planners on YouTube. Cami has tons of videos flipping through her products, her vision for the planner, and explaining what went into creating the Tidbits Planner. I feel like I know her after watching her videos, and I truly want her to succeed because I can see the passion and the sacrifice that has gone into creating these Planners and other products. She’s one of the good ones.
Tidbits Planner and the Ultimate Bundle
Cami was amazing and sent me the Ultimate Tidbit Bundle. It includes everything that she sells and I’m so grateful that I get to try out all of these products! They are so amazing! She has worked hard to make sure everything is the best quality, cohesive together, and absolutely beautiful.
The Ultimate Bundle includes:
- Tidbits Planner
- Journal
- Notebook
- Sketchbook
- 10 Mini Notebooks
- Tidbits Pen
- 2 pack of Pen Loops
What Makes Tidbits Special
In addition to having all the function on the inside, as an interior designer, she also wanted to make sure the outside was beautiful enough to be displayed in your home. And I would say that she definitely nailed it. This planner, and the other books, are the most beautiful functional books I’ve ever seen.
Color Choices
What I love most about all these colors, is that they all match so well together. So you can pick multiple colors between your planner and the other notebooks. No matter what colors you choose, they will look beautiful sitting next to each other. As someone who loves variety but also loves to match, I very much appreciate this!
Cover
Each of the 2021 Tidbits Books are 7.5×9 inches. This and similar sizes are consistently my preference! It is big enough to have plenty of room to write, but small enough to not take up too much room on your desk. Or in your bag if you need to carry it around.
The covers are a sturdy hardback, and each one comes with a really nice protective sleeve. I love these little details that Cami included when designing the Tidbits Planner and the other books. It’s always those little things that make the biggest difference.
The cover is smooth and beautiful. It has a simple and classic design with just the title written on the front in black foil. And I love black foil on anything!
Paper Quality
Paper quality is always one of the most important things to me. If the paper sucks, using the planner won’t be enjoyable. Tidbits Planners and books are made with a smooth 80 lb. bleed proof paper that is just amazing!
Binding
The Tidbits Planner and other books are made with a bound binding. Another feature that Cami said she worked hard to get in the Tidbits books is lay flat binding. I definitely appreciate that, as I hate books where the middle is virtually unusable because of the giant crease.
Another thing I noticed, was that when I first opened the books, they opened so easily. Even with lay flat binding, I’ve found that many books take some work to get them to open, as you break in the spine. I’m not sure what the technical difference is, but these all opened so nice and clean without any force to get them to lay flat.
Other Features
Silk Ribbon Bookmarks
There are two silk ribbon bookmarks to help you keep your place, or places. I love keeping one on my week, and another in my notes in the back.
Pockets in front and back
I don’t think I’ve ever seen this in a hardbound planner before, but all of the Tidbits books have two pockets, one on each cover. I love having pockets in my planners and notebooks, and I love that she thought to add in both!
Tidbits Planner
Before going into the other books that are available at Tidbits Planners, I figured I should start with the actual Tidbits Planner. This is really what it’s all about, after all. And then I’ll go over all of the other books and accessories next.
After the struggle of trying to find the perfect planner (and I know we’ve all been there!), Cami decided that she was going to make it herself, and fought hard to get all of the features she knew would be important to have. Many of those I’ve talked about before, but even the layout of the Tidbits Planner was well thought out to include lots of space for planning, and a way to organize your days.
Cover Colors
It’s important to note that the Tidbits Planner comes in 13 different colors. I choose Lavender Dreams for mine, but I loved so many of the other ones too (like Dusty Plum, Country Berry, and Fog)! Each one is beautiful, and match perfectly with each other. Each year as you get your new planner, you can keep with the same color, or change it up. Either way they will always look good next to each other.
Monthly Tabs
Another feature of the Tidbits planner that I have never seen in a bound planner before is that it has monthly tabs! They are laminated and durable to last the year, and it makes it so much easier to find the month you want to plan in!
Dated 12 Month Planner
The Tidbits Planner is a dated 12 month planner (January – December 2021). Within each month you get a monthly calendar, weekly spreads, and extra notes pages for anything else you might need notes space for.
The Notes Spaces are Flexible
There is a lot of freedom in the notes spaces. There are no categories filled in, so you have complete control. Nothing is more annoying that having to change a heading because it doesn’t work for your life. This setup makes it easy to customize your planner to be exactly what you need it to be. And this is not just true for the notes page, this also applies to the notes sections on each weekly and monthly page.
Yearly Pages
At the beginning of the Tidbits Planner, you get two different spreads to help you plan your general overview of the year.
The first one is the full view of 2021 and 2022. I love that this page also has notes space at the bottom for a reference key, or and notes that you might need to keep for the whole year.
The second spread that you get is a way to plan or track monthly with these 12 boxes. These can be perfect for planning ahead, or for remembering things that happened during each month that you might need to go back and reference later.
Monthly Calendar & Notes
Each month of course includes a monthly calendar. It is a standard block style calendar with the week starting on Sunday. The side bar is broken into three sections for you to plan out your month. None of the sections are titled, so you are able to use them for anything.
In addition to the monthly calendar, within each month there are also two pages for notes. One is broken down into sections, while the other is a lined notes page. Like everywhere else in the Tidbits Planner, none of these sections are labeled.
Weekly
I’ve been using an hourly planner for about a year now, and the one thing that I’ve always felt was lacking was that there was never enough room to put in a to do list with my schedule. And as someone who relies more on to do lists than appointments, this has always created a dilemma for me.
So while the Tidbits Planner is an hourly planner, I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate that Cami has included blank space at the top of each day that can be used however you need it.
I also love to see how Cami has used her planner to time block during the hourly spaces, along with including appointments that are at a specific time.
It is designed in a way that works well for both those who need to plan their day by the hour, and those who have more tasks to get done than they do appointments.
The sidebar is divided into three sections. They are unlabeled so you can make them work for what you need each week. You can even have them change each week, or stay the same, as needed. There are so many flexible spaces within this planner that are perfect to customize to fit your lifestyle.
Each week also includes a habit tracker, and an inspirational quote. I do wish there was at least one more space to track a 4th habit each week, but I love that it was included. Goals and habits are so important me!
Also important to note is that the weeks begin on Sunday and go through Saturday.
Notes Pages
Another feature I love in planners is notes pages. I always need to write something down (because if it doesn’t get out of my head, it stresses me out). I absolutely love that the Tidbits Planner has a TON of notes pages! And, she not only put in lots of lined pages, but also graph and dot grid. I love having the variety because I never can predict what I’m going to need those pages for, and having all of the options makes it all the more valuable for me.
Other Tidbits Products
Tidbits Notebook, Journal, and Sketchbook
Like I mentioned earlier, there is not just a Tidbits Planner, but a whole line of Tidbits books. So in addition to the planner, you can also grab Notebooks, Journals, and Sketchbooks all with the same quality, and style, as the planner. This is perfect for storing them on the shelf or coffee table, because they will always still match with each other.
These books all come in four different colors: White, Shadow, Fog, and Oatmeal. I have one of each to show you, except oatmeal (it is more of a cream color).
Each of these books has what you would expect. The Tidbits Notebook has lined pages. The Sketchbook has blank pages, and the Journal has lined pages with space for the date at the top.
Each one is printed with 200 pages of the same 80 lb paper, comes with one ribbon bookmark, has two pockets (one on each cover), lay flat binding, and a protective book sleeve.
I’m obsessed with these! They are just beautiful and the possibilities for creating something worth saving in them are endless. I love the idea of using them as your personal journal, to record a personal or family history, taking notes in a business meeting, or creating your newest piece of art.
Tidbits Mini Notebooks
These mini notebooks are such a great idea! This isn’t something I’ve seen from a planner company before, and as a true notebook addict, I appreciate these so much! And I have to say that I am really impressed at the quality of these (and everything else for that matter)!
These mini notebooks are just what they sound like, small notebooks that can be tossed in your bag or placed around the house to jot down notes that come to mind (so important for me!!) or for entertaining kids that might need something to draw in when you are working or out and about.
What I didn’t expect was that not only is the paper the same quality of the Planner and Books (and it’s blank paper inside), but the covers are really nice! They are a matte, but coated cardstock with sewn binding. These are not just cheap little notebooks. I love that they come in a pack of 10, because they are really nice and so helpful to have around.
Tidbits Pen
This one really surprised me. I knew before I got it that this was a very thin tipped pen. I have always struggled with any pen under .7 tip. Even .5 pens just feel rough and hard to write with.
But the Tidbits Pen is amazing! And I don’t say that lightly! I’m a pen snob for sure! I don’t know where she got it from, or what the process was like to find one that worked so well, but this is an incredibly smooth pen! And it has a 0.38mm needle point tip! I also love that it is a black gel ink pen. As much as I love my colored pens (blue included), when I’m writing in my planners, I always tend to prefer black. And of course, gel pens all the way.
Tidbits Pen Loops
The final thing I received in the Ultimate Tidbits Bundle was two pen holders. One is white with and one is black. They both have the elastic loops, and attach with adhesive to anywhere in your planner (the cover is probably the best option). They are both really pretty. Both are a faux leather material (except for the actual loop that is elastic), and have a really nice feel to them. The white is a bit smaller and has the Tidbits logo on it. The black is a little wider with a textured feel. Either one would look beautiful with any of the planner colors.
Other Options for the Tidbits Planner
The last thing I want to talk about is other options for purchasing the Tidbits Planner. I love the regular Tidbits Planner, but Cami has also made available a few other options for those that may want something a little different.
Printable and Digital Tidbits Planner
In case a ready made or book bound planner isn’t your preference, Tidbits Planners also offers the planner in two additional versions. I’m also adding in the videos that Cami has made about these two options so you can see more about them.
The first option is that you can choose to purchase the planner in a printable format. This would allow you to bind it however you wish (coil, discs, or 3 ring binder are some ideas). And because this version is 8.5×11 inches, it would also give you more room to write if you just need a larger planner.
The other option is as a digital planner. If you are someone who prefers to keep your planner in GoodNotes or a similar app on your tablet, this version works perfectly for that. There are even matching digital stickers available for the digital Tidbits Planner.
Final Thoughts on Tidbits Planners
If you want to try out the Tidbits Planner layout before purchasing, you can get undated monthly and weekly pages here to try.
Soon I will be able to show you how I’m going to be using these products! I’m trying something completely new with them, but it’s something that I have been needing to help me stay on track with my goals this year.
After I’ve worked out some of the details, I’ll share more about it as I get into a rhythm. And of course you can follow along with me on Instagram @lauren_msbl
