Whether you need a self care gift for someone, or you are looking for a way to treat yourself this season, this gift guide is full of ideas for giving or receiving self care.
I received products from Erin Condren for free for the purpose of creating this post. I love Erin Condren products and always give my honest opinion.
We know this is a stressful time of year. There are so many things that come up that are out of the ordinary. And the ordinary stuff doesn’t stop either.
But I’ve got a way for you to check one thing off your list (which is one less thing for you to worry about), and give the gift of relaxing to someone else too.
I’ve gathered some of my favorite things and created three wellness themed self care baskets that make amazing gifts for friends, moms, daughters, sisters, and anyone who just needs a little break for themselves. Including you.
Self Care Gift Guide: Wellness Baskets
Each basket covers a different category: Mind, Body, and Soul. Use each group separately, or mix and match to give some of everything, and create the perfect gift.
What I love about these is that not only do they make great gifts (I would love to get any one of these!), but they would also work perfectly if you wanted to create a self-care kit to keep on hand for yourself. And it’s so easy to make! I’ll even include links to some cute baskets, cellophane wrap, and ribbon to make it even easier to put together.
And who couldn’t use a little extra pampering around the holidays?
Self Care Gift Ideas for the Mind
The Erin Condren On-The-Go Folio and Petite Planners have become one of my recent planner addictions. And of course I had to include something planner related.
I love the size of the Petite Planners and Journals, and they are perfect for tossing in your bag. Or add them to the Folio to create a personalized planning system.
Erin Condren makes Petite Planners that are great for taking care of yourself, like the Wellness and Self Care journals. I also love adding in the Gratitude and Goal Setting Planners, along with a basic lined journal for just jotting down daily thoughts. Combined with an On-The-Go Folio, one of the new Planner Pouches, and a set of Dual Tip Markers, it makes the perfect self care gift basket for anyone to take care of their mind and mental health.
Self Care Gift Ideas for the Body
If we want to be able to keep up with all the activities and extra tasks during December (and the recovering in January), we’ve got to take care of our bodies.
Over the past couple years I’ve learned how important it is to take care of ourselves. When your body decides that it’s had enough, it can completely derail all your plans. So this basket is perfect for someone who might need a little self care to prevent getting to the point of sheer exhaustion and stress overload.
We all know we need to drink plenty of water. I love these insulated bottles to keep water cool. And they are also awesome for keeping things warm, so your cozy hot chocolate will last for hours instead of minutes.
Hot chocolate totally counts as getting hydrated, right?
I’m absolutely in love with these Freeman Face Masks! They make my skin feel so soft and smooth afterwards.
You can also buy these in the single use packets. But I prefer the full sized bottles because they are a much better deal for the amount you can get.
I’m not really into most exercise. But I do love yoga. I love stretching out my muscles (because it feels so good afterwards). And the quiet, calm atmosphere of a good yoga class (or YouTube video) is just the most relaxing thing.
And if you’ve never tried yoga before… did you know the last part of every class involves just laying there? BEST. EXERCISE. EVER.
While you don’t need to have a yoga mat, or any equipment, to do yoga, I do highly recommend a good mat. It really helps to not slip around the floor. Even carpet can get slippery and rug burns are not fun…
Healthy (and yummy) Snacks
Healthy snacks are a must when it comes to self care. I love throwing any of these in my purse to have while I’m out shopping. Those and my water bottle always come with me. Because you never know when hunger or thirst will strike and this helps from having to stop and grab something less healthy, and less nourishing.
That’s It – Apple and Mango Bars
How cute is this manicure set? I know I always feel better when my nails are done and pretty. It’s the perfect addition to any self care basket.
Mrs. Meyers Hand Soaps are my favorite! They always have seasonal scents that smell amazing (Apple Cider for Autumn, and Orange Clove or Pine for Winter).
I get them from Grove, but they also sell them at Amazon, Target, and even a lot of grocery stores.
EOS is my favorite lip balm. For the longest time, I thought it was just a novelty because of the shape. But it really is a super moisturizing and soothing lip balm. Plus they have scents that smell AMAZING, like this pomegranate raspberry.
And if you don’t like the sphere, they come in sticks too.
Self Care Gift Ideas for the Soul
The Soul Self Care Gift Basket is all about those warm and cozy feelings. You know, all those things that just make you feel good and peaceful and happy.
I love my sherpa throw so much! They are the softest and warmest blankets. Seriously, nothing compares to a sherpa. I don’t know what it is, but it can hold in the heat like nothing else! They are the best things to snuggle up with when it’s cold!
And the Erin Condren Sherpa Throws have so many designs and customization options, there’s sure to be something for everyone’s style! You can even add your own photos on them.
The Snowflake Flurry pattern is my current favorite! It was part of the fall/winter design release, so it might disappear after the new year. So pretty much, if you love it, snag it now! This one isn’t available anymore, but this Autumn Breeze design is my new favorite!
A Good Book
Add in a favorite book that they can curl up with on a wintery day. Some of my favorites are The Joy of Missing Out by Tonya Dalton and When Less Becomes More by Emily Ley.
They both talk about slowing down and refocusing on what’s most important. That’s something that I think we all need to strive towards.
Seasonal Mug & Something Yummy to Drink
There are few things more soothing than sipping on something yummy in a cute mug. I love these large camper style mugs. They just have all the winter feels.
Stephen’s Gourmet Hot Chocolates are my absolute favorite! I love this Roasted Hazelnut flavor. It’s like drinking Nutella.
Music
It never really feels like Christmas to me until I have holiday music playing constantly. In fact, I’m even listening right now.
If you are looking for an awesome Christmas CD to include, Trans Siberian Orchestra is so good!
But if you want something more year-round, The Piano Guys have great instrumental songs that are great for a relaxing evening curled up by the fire.
Seriously, how cute are these? Fuzzy socks are the best. Especially when they look like animals.
Fill it with pictures, or leave it empty for them to fill themselves. But a photo album is such a great gift to save all the good memories through the year.
Don’t we all just love candles?! They make a great gift for someone (including yourself) who needs a little extra calm in their life.
I love Candelles candles! They have scents that just smell so good, and the combinations are just perfection. Seriously, I would have never thought to mix cranberry, pine, and vanilla, but doesn’t it just sound amazing?!
Plus they are hand-poured, soy wax, which is pretty mandatory for my candles now. *Side note: I only use soy wax candles now, they burn so much smoother and aren’t irritating like regular wax candles are.
While you’re at it, get this Candle Accessory Set to go with it. I can’t even get over how cool it is to have a candle wick trimmer instead of trying to fit scissors into the jar to trim the wick!
Something For Everyone
These baskets are so easy to put together and make awesome gifts for any woman (or man) in your life. Plus, once its done, then that’s one less thing for you to stress about. And you’ll have a little more time to focus on your family and friends, instead of just shopping for them.
Let me know in the comments, what would you love to give or get in a self care gift basket?
