The inkWELL Press Daily Planner inserts are perfect for those busy seasons when there is more to keep track of than will fit in a weekly planner.

inkWELL Press Daily Planner

I’ve tried daily planners before. Like the Day Designer last year…

And while I love the layout and concept of them, I could never stick to it because I just didn’t have enough plans and tasks to fill in all that space.

But a few months ago I agreed to take on additional responsibilities at work. And that combined with the other areas of my life created more things that needed to be written down and remembered. More than would fit in my weekly Erin Condren LifePlanner.

I’m still using my LifePlanner too. I think that is the key to making this all work; I really still need a weekly view. And one of the things I love about the inkWELL Press daily inserts is that they are undated. So on days that are especially busy, I can fill out the daily sheet. But I don’t feel like I’m wasting pages on days when I don’t have as much going on.

The Setup

The cover I chose is called Smoke, and has since been discontinued (I bought it from the IWP outlet section on their website). However it was replaced with a similar cover called Pebble.

My discs are from The Happy Planner. They came on a student planner that was sold at Target in 2018. I think the same planner is still available on their website, but you can also purchase the purple discs individually now.

I love the purple discs with the gray cover. When I was setting up this planner I tried different colors of discs (including the IWP rose gold discs when they were released a couple months ago). The purple remains my favorite.

Inserts

inkWELL Press offers various different inserts as part of their new 360 disc-bound system. Obviously I chose the daily inserts (since that’s what this post is mainly about). But I also got the monthly inserts for a couple reasons. 1. I wanted the monthly layout. Go figure. 2. Because it came with extra goal setting and notes pages (mostly for the notes pages). I love my notes pages and knew I needed the space to write additional information through the month.

I have been using the monthly to keep track of pretty much everything. The highlighter color coding system is working well for me, and I love how it looks with the muted colors of the planner. (I’m using Mildliners)

Dividers

I ordered the inkWELL Press dividers from last years’ planner. They are a basic coated cardstock, without laminated tabs. I’ve heard that many people were unhappy with them last year, but I haven’t had a problem with them. After a few months of use, they are holding up better than I expected.

However, when they released the new clear poly dividers with their 2020 planners, I ordered those to use in my daily planner next year.

*The new ones are so amazing and I love them!*

I used random Happy Planner dashboards and page markers to help me easily find certain pages. I have them on the current month, current day, and one for my notes section in the back. (That one will probably be replaced with a poly divider for 2020).

Notes Section

I love having tons of note paper (because I write everything down). And since I have an abundance of Happy Planner paper (which fits *almost* perfectly), I just used some of that in the back of my inkWELL Press Daily.

How it’s working

It’s been about 3 months now and it has been working great. I don’t use the daily pages all the time. In fact, I only set it up to have enough pages for Monday-Friday, and even those I don’t always use. But I love having the space when I need it.

I fully intend on including this in my planner lineup for 2020.

Have you tried a daily planner? Which one do you use and how do you use it? Let me know in the comments!
