I’ve been waiting for this. And I’m so thrilled beyond belief to finally see an Erin Condren A5 Rings Agenda! It’s the perfect blend for my passion for rings planners and my love of Erin Condren products. They really nailed it with this one!
These products were given to me for free by Erin Condren to preview and review for the LifePlanner Launch. All opinions are honest and my own.
The new 2023-2024 Erin Condren LifePlanner is now available! See here for the updated post…
Erin Condren LifePlanner 2021-22 Launch
I’ve had this fascination with ring agendas for pretty much my whole life. Like I can remember being, I don’t know, under 10 years old, and getting soooo excited because my Mom gave me her’s that she wasn’t using anymore. I was hooked.
And watching the Filofax craze take off a few years ago… I’ve spent hours watching videos of A5 planner setups over the years.
When Erin Condren started to release their A5 coiled guided journals last fall, I really started getting my hopes up. And I just about lost my mind when I found out it was officially confirmed.
Shop: A5 Rings Agenda by Erin Condren
And I have to say, it has lived up to every expectation I had and then some. The blush color is gorgeous (there are three other colors too: Camel, Gold, and Mid Century Circles Pattern), the vegan leather feels amazing, and the inserts move around like a dream. When you close the agenda, you don’t even have to shift all the pages to keep them from getting wrapped in the rings. They just glide into place so it can close smoothly. *major win!*
In this post I’m going to tell you all about the Erin Condren A5 Rings Agenda. But I’ll also let you know about the other planner options that you’ll have to choose from on Launch Day (May 3rd for EC Insiders – sign up here for free and save $10 off your first purchase). And of course I can’t leave out the accessories.
It’s no exaggeration when they say that this is the biggest LifePlanner Launch yet. There have never been more options as there are this year. And being the planner addict that I am, I kinda want them all.
Erin Condren A5 Rings Agenda
The Agenda
The Erin Condren A5 Rings Agenda is beautiful! I got the blush color, which is a little darker than I would expect for blush, but I still love it. The material is thick and luxurious feeling. I love the stitching along the edges. And it closes with a magnetic snap. It has a minimal vibe about it, which could be perfect for professional use, or decorated to be more causal.
Inside the front cover are three credit card style pockets on top. a slightly deeper pocket below that, and a cut slit on the left edge. I’ve already seen it used for pens, decorations, and the long sticky notepads made by Erin Condren.
The back cover has another slit, but this one goes all the way across. It is the perfect size to fit a medium sized notepad, or even a Petite Planner.
Along the right side on the flap, there is an elastic pen loop. It is big enough to hold even thick pens, like the new Mid Century Circles Ballpoint Pen.
The Inserts
The number one thing I want to mention is that the paper used for the A5 Agenda inserts is the same paper that has been used in the coiled LifePlanners for years: thick, semi-textured, Mohawk paper. You don’t need to worry about your pens or markers bleeding through the page with this paper.
And something that I noticed has changed this year is the vellum page on the front of the LifePlanner. They have been including a sheet of vellum (usually decorated, but I have a very neutral planner so mine here is plain) for as long as I’ve been using Erin Condren planners. But this year is it really thick! If I hadn’t seen the “LifePlanner” title page showing through it from the start, I would have thought it was a really nice regular paper (not vellum). Words show through perfectly, yet when I held it against my hand, it was almost opaque. You can see more of what I mean in my YouTube video if you are curious.
The interior pages of each LifePlanner, although they vary in style and layout, are the same across the board. I mentioned earlier that I choose a very neutral style, called Just My Type. There is no color in these inserts at all. The tabs are gray, the dividers are dark gray text, and the only decorations are only in the form of the fonts that they used.
I also choose daily inserts. Which means there are a lot of pages. Each “set” is broken up into 6 months worth of inserts. So because of this, the beginning of each 6 month pack has 6 boxes, and a 6 month calendar at a glance. I actually really love this setup because it allows me to see both at the same time. And there is another set for the next 6 months to plan for those.
But in case you need more for reference, the back side has all of 2022.
Each monthly divider has a quote. And in the Just My Type style, they are so minimal, but the fun fonts make it visually appealing too. I also love the way the gray tabs match with the blush Agenda!
Each monthly section starts with a monthly calendar. Again, these are very neutral and minimal in order to keep it simple and clean, or allow you to have the canvas you need to decorate without printed on colors clashing with your theme.
Like in previous years, after the monthly calendar is a lined notes page and a dashboard style page for extra space to plan and organize your month. These spaces are so flexible and give you the room you need to personalized it to what you need in your life!
I love the fonts in the Just My Type design! Everything is gray, but they made it so fun with all the specialty fonts & types.
I choose the daily layout, and I already love the space this will give me to plan out my days! The left side of the page has an hourly breakdown, going from 6 am to 7 pm, with an extra block at the bottom for an extra hour or other note space.
The right side of the page has a small section at the top with a mini monthly calendar. There is also some room on the side for other things that you may want to make note of for the day. Below that is a to do list, and then a blank section.
One of the reasons I love a rings agenda for a daily planner is because you can choose how many pages to keep inside. Once pages are completed, they can be easily removed to make room for more pages. This is especially helpful for anyone who uses stickers to decorate regularly. Stickers can quickly bulk up your pages, so having the option to remove the older pages can keep your planner from being too thick.
The Extras
Each Erin Condren LifePlanner comes with a few extras. One of my favorites are the sticker sheets in the back. And I love that the ones included in the A5 Rings Agenda are actually punched to go into the rings! I’ve never even thought of this before, but you’d better believe that I’m going to be making myself some punched sticker sheets now!
One of the sticker sheets that you’ll receive with the LifePlanners this year is a set of holiday stickers that fit within the monthly boxes. The holidays that we celebrate are incredibly special and meaningful. But we are all unique and diverse in what we celebrate. You’ll still find more of the major holidays listed within the monthly pages. But in addition to that, there is sheet of additional holidays, labeled with their corresponding dates, that you can use to add in those holidays that are meaningful to you.
There are also 3 compliment cards that come with each LifePlanner. I love these cards! They are gorgeous, and uplifting, whether you give them to someone else, or keep them for yourself.
It seems that this year they didn’t make an entire set of compliment cards, but instead just created these three. There is one that matches each of the three designs for this year’s LifePlanners. Just seeing how beautiful they are makes me wish they had, in fact, created a whole set (or three!).
Each LifePlanner also comes with a perpetual calendar. These can be used for so many things, including their intended purpose of keeping track of holiday, birthdays, and important dates that happen each year. They can also be used for future planning, daily gratitude, or a “line a day” journal.
Accessories
No matter how we plan, we all have at least one favorite type of accessory to go with our planners. I’m going over the accessories that I got to preview, but there are so many more available in the various designs (like the absolutely beautiful Flora pattern). You will absolutely want to check out all the accessories that are now available!
There are also two accessory bundles: Mid Century Circles and Flora. This is a great way to save money when you want all the accessories!
Washi Tape
The new collection includes two new washi tape designs: Mid Century Circles (shown below) and Flora. I love this gold metallic MCC design the most! But the classic colorful design is perfect for brightening up your planner pages! They are sold in a set of two with both designs.
Sticker Book
The planner sticker books are always one of the best accessories in my opinion. I love having sticker options when I’m planning, and these sticker books have so many different options to choose from in the most amazing colors!
This year’s is especially cool because they have included some new styles of stickers in the sticker books, including these larger boxes that I love!
Extra Sticker Sheets
In addition to the sticker books, Erin Condren has also made extra packs of the stickers that come in the back of the planners. This year there are four different packs to choose from: Mid Century Circles, Flora, Just My Type Colorful, and Just My Type Neutral.
MCC Planny Pack
The new Mid Century Circles Planny Pack has a cream colored background, gold accents (like the zipper and elastic), and of course, the beautiful colorful MCC pattern!
MCC Ballpoint Pen
This beautiful Mid Century Circles Ballpoint Pen is perfect for slipping into your pen loop for writing plans on the go. It is amazing quality and write so smoothly!
I love how it feels too. It is a weightier pen, with gold accents. It is definitely a high quality pen.
Snap-in Bookmarks
I love all the mini snap in bookmarks, and these new ones in the Just My Type style are so minimal and stylish!
They are perfect for ANY book that is coiled… textbooks, workbooks, notebooks, and of course planners. I collect them all, and use them all the time!
They are small and stick out over the edge of the page just enough to mark your place. But small enough that they don’t get in the way of actually seeing what is ON the page.
Snap-in Checklist Dashboard
Okay, first of all, this Checklist Dashboard is so pretty!! The background has a watercolor gradient pattern that is just beautiful! Sadly, the pictures don’t do it justice because of the light reflection.
The front has a checklist form that can be use in so many different ways! Habit trackers, cleaning checklist, bill tracker, and kid’s chores are just a few ideas. And the back is a simple dot grid with a gold foiled quote at the top.
I love how it is so flexible! And can just snap right into your planner!
This is sized to fit best in the 7×9 coiled planners and notebooks. It will also fit in the new 8.5×11 inch LifePlanner.
Snap-in Dashboard (To Do List & Weekly Overview)
This is the perfect accessory for the Daily Duo Planners, in my opinion. Since the daily planners don’t include weekly layouts, this To Do List/Weekly Dashboard gives you the extra room to see your longer term to do list and have a place where you can see your weekly overview.
Fine Tip Pens – 24 Pack
Yeah… we all love new pens, don’t we? And I have all the heart eyes for this new set of 24 Thin Tip Markers.
When Erin Condren first released the thin tip markers recently, my biggest question was if there was really any difference between these and the thin tip side of the Dual Tip Markers.
And, yes. There is a difference. If you’ve ever used a thin tip felt pen, like Staedtlers Triplus Fineliners, then that is what these can be compared to. Except the Staedtlers seem to have a more squared off tip, and the Erin Condren fine tip markers have a pointed tip, which makes them smoother to write with. Definite win.
Even the thin tip side of the Dual Tip Markers is thicker than these. And it seems a little more marker like, and less pen like. If that makes any sense. I found it easier to write with these thin tip markers.
This 24 pack contains all the colors that were previously released with the original 3 packs, plus 5 new colors. So even if you purchased those before, this will still have new colors that you haven’t gotten yet.
You can see my pen test below. The left is all the new Thin Tip Markers. The center is the fine tip side of the Dual Tip Markers, and the right side is the medium tip of the Dual Tip Markers.
Launch Day Info
When it is?
**Launch Day has happened and all of the products are live now! You can see them all here!**
May 3, 2021 for EC Insiders, and May 4 for the general public. But becoming an EC Insider is easy (and free). If you don’t even have an EC account yet, you can sign up through my referral link here and get $10 off your first purchase.
Save some money (aka. become an EC Insider)
And since I love to tell you how to get the best deal on your planners, this is it for Launch Day. There are not generally any other coupon codes or sales (to my knowledge) for Launch Day. The referral sign up bonus is a great way to save on your new planner!
If you already have an EC account, you just need to go into your profile and there should be a box to check to sign up to be an Insider. Plus then you will earn points, and those can be redeemed for credits to spend.
Free Gifts with Purchase
The last thing I want to talk about are the free gifts with purchase of a new LifePlanner. EC Insiders shopping on May 3rd will get both gifts (while supplies last), a Clear Glitter Pencil Pouch & the Mid Century Circles Ballpoint Pen. Those that shop on May 4th will get just the Ballpoint Pen (which is gorgeous, by the way!). You can see the preview of these gifts, and all the planners on the sneak peek page of the EC Website.
Let me know in the comments, or message me on IG @lauren_msbl if you have any questions about these products or the LifePlanner Launch. I’m happy to help anyway I can!
